February Sermon Series: Family Values
Parenty just isn't what it was when the values of the family down the block were pretty close to your own. And, what are your family's values, by the way? Clarifying family values is important for all households. If we are unclear or have not articulated the values we consider important, we send fuzzy signals about what we believe we should and should not do. When fmailies dont' take time to talk about values and share what is truly importnat, we can end up feeling that we have no values at all.
In February, we will be focusing upon Family Values in our worship services. Be sure to join us as we share resources and help each other consider what Scripture teaches us about fmaily values.
February 8 Family Value: Deep Caring
February 15 Resolution: Unselfish Affection
February 22 Resolution: Peace & Thankfulness

Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper
Plans are underway for the annual Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper. You are invited to join us in the Fellowship Hall at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 21, to enjoy pancakes, sausage, and some entertainment -- a fun and tasty way of ushering in the season of Lent.
Ash Wednesday Worship
Ash Wednesday is the start of Lent -- the season that prepares us for Easter. This year, our Ash Wednesday Worship Service will be held jointly with the congregation of 1st United Methodist Church of Wadesboro. The service begins at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 22, and will take place at 1st United Methodist (just across Greene Street from us). All are welcome to participate in this first step in our Lenten journey to the cross -- and resurrection. The service will include the Imposition of Ashes, in which all worshipers may come forward and receive a cross of ashes on their foreheads.
Sermons During Lent: Growing With Peter
Life is made up of stories, and those stories are opportunities to discover and express the story of God and his gracious work. During Lent, we will be looking at the story of Simon Peter. Peter’s story went through many chapters as he sought to understand and follow Jesus the Christ — not so different from the rest of us. Join us beginning Sunday, February 26, as we look for the parallels between the story of Peter and the story each of us is now living.
